D17417 A Shelley 'Chicken' pattern mould. This piece has a black printed mark which reads 'Shelley', in a shield, with 'ENGLAND' beneath. The mould dates from c.1930. Shelley made five different moulds with animal designs and they are all quite collectable. Of them all the chicken is possibly the rarest. They were each made in three different sizes. The chicken is one of those which was modelled on both the interior and the exterior, making it great for display as well as use, and the moulding is exceptionally well detailed. It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height 10cm. (4in) Length 18.8cm. (7 3/8in) Width 15.2cm. (6in).

D17420 A Wileman 'Crayfish' pattern mould. This mould is marked, in brown, with a monogram of the letters C and W beneath a crown. Above this is 'THE FOLEY' and beneath is 'SEMI-PORCELAIN ENGLAND' and the registered design number 'Rd430208'. This is the mark of the Wileman company before it became Shelley and the mould was made c.1900. Shelley made five different moulds with animal designs and they are all quite collectable. They were each made in three different sizes. Unlike some of the animals, the crayfish is only modelled on the insde of the mould but the moulding is very well detailed. It is in excellent condition. The Wileman moulds were more heavily potted than the later Shelley examples.
Dimensions: Height 10cm. (4in) Length 17.8cm. (7in) Width 15.2cm. (6in).

D17429 A Shelley 'Acanthus' pattern mould. Marked, in red, 'Shelley', in a shield, with 'ENGLAND' beneath. The base of the mould is impressed with the number '3' which is the size number. Date: c.1930. Size: 17.2cm. (6 3/4") long by 13.6cm. (5 3/8") wide by 12cm. (4 3/4") high. I think that this is one of the most attractive of the geometric designs produced by Shelley.
