D17272 A porcelaneous mould depicting the emblems of the U.K. Marked, in the moulding, with a cartouche which gives the size and capasity '5IN IMPERIAL 1 PINT'. There are no manufacturers marks. Date: c.1920. Size: 15.2cm. (6") long by 12.3cm. (4 7/8") wide by 10.8cm. (4 1/4") high. This piece is quite finely potted, which is typical of moulds of this period. In the base of the mould is a crown and around this are thistles, roses and shamrocks. To the sides of the mould are Union Jacks above castle walls. It is quite well detailed and it is in excellent condition. £42. U.S.A.

D16926 A Shelley 'Ritz' pattern mould. Marked, in green, 'Shelley', in a shield, with 'ENGLAND' beneath. The base of the mould is impressed with the number '3' which is the size number. Date: c.1920. Size: 17.8cm. (7") long by 15.2cm. (6") wide by 13.4cm. (5 1/4") high. This is one of the pattern names which Shelley named after a London hotel. The Ritz hotel in Piccadilly was opened in 1906 by the Swiss hotelier Cezar Ritz. This design of mould was made in four sizes and this one is in excellent condition. £52. U.S.A.

D16915 A Shelley 'French' pattern mould. Marked, in black, 'SHELLEY', in a shield, with 'MADE IN' above the shield and 'ENGLAND' beneath. Date: c.1925. Size: 18.5cm. (7 1/4") long by 15.5cm. (6 1/8") wide by 11.5cm. (4 1/4") high. Many of the pattern names for Shelley moulds were named after London hotels but I don't think that this was one as I have not been able to trace a French Hotel. The design is one of the more simple shapes produced by Shelley but it does turn out very well. It is in excellent condition. £42. U.S.A.

D16705 A Shelley 'Cecil' pattern mould. Marked, in green, 'Shelley', in a shield, with 'ENGLAND' beneath. Date: c.1920. Size: 18.8cm. (7 3/8") long by 14.6cm. (5 3/4") wide by 6.6cm. (2 5/8") high. Shelley named most of their jelly moulds after London hotels and this one is no exception. The Hotel Cecil was one of the grandest hotels in the world when it was built in 1886. This design of mould was made in two sizes and this one is in excellent condition. £52. U.S.A.
