D17106 A dark blue, jasper dip jardiniere. Marked 'WEDGWOOD'. It is also impressed with the letter 'J' and the number '9', which relates to the size. Date: c.1880. Size: 20.2cm. (8") high by 23.2cm. (9 1/8") diameter. This piece is decorated with Apollo and five of the Muses. Above these are garlands of grapes and vines which hang from lion masks. To the rim is a narrow border of flowers. The reliefs are all good quality and the jasper dip is a rich shade of blue. The jardiniere is in excellent condition. £225. U.S.A.

D17029 A dark blue jasper dip vase and cover. Marked 'WEDGWOOD' and there is also an impressed letter 'H' and a number '8'. This relates to the size as the height of the vase alone is 20.3cm. (8"). Date: c.1880. Size: 17.8cm. (7") diameter at the rim of the vase by 27cm. (10 5/8") high to the top of the finial on the lid. This shape of vase is known as a Campana Urn. It was made, by Wedgwood, in various forms, with either pierced or solid lids. This example is decorated with classical subjects to either side and above the handles are trees. To the lower section of the vase, and also to the lid, is a band of harebells and acanthus and there are further, narrow foliate borders to the rim and base of the vase. The reliefs are good quality and the jasper dip is a good, rich, shade of blue. There is a firing line in the dip colour, around the finial. This is from the time of manufacture and the finial has not been off. Both the vase and cover are in excellent condition. £525. Nil.
D17036 A pair of dark blue jasper dip spill vases. Each one is marked 'WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND'. They each also have an impressed number '6' and a letter, one has an 'E' and one has an 'F'. Date: c.1920. Size: They are both 7cm. (2 3/4") diameter, at the base, by 15cm. (6") high. These vases were for holding spills for lighting the fire and they would have stood at either end of a mantlepiece. They are decorated with a band of harebells and acanthus beneath garlands of flowers which hang from rams heads. To the rim is a border of scrolling flowers. The reliefs are good quality and the jasper dip is a good, rich shade of blue. This is a very attractive design and they are both in excellent condition. £175.

Size, when the base and cover are together: 13cm. (5 1/8") diameter by 8.2cm. (3 1/4") high. The piece has moulded handles to either side and the total width, across the handles, is 14.8cm. (5 7/8"). This piece is well potted. The cover has large pierced holes, through which you would place the sprigs of violets, and it is decorated with small flowers and acanthus leaves. D16805 A large, dark blue jasper dip vase and cover. Marked 'WEDGWOOD ENGLAND' and there is also an impressed letter 'O' . Date: c.1900. Size: 21.5cm. (8 1/2") diameter at the rim of the vase by 34.2cm. (13 1/2") high to the top of the finial on the lid. This is a very impressive piece. The shape is known as a Campana Urn.
